Lita Rossana Ford (also called Lita Ford, is an American guitar player and singer born in Britain. She played lead guitar as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of girls in late 1970s. Their punk rock music and provocative lyrics helped them get not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. Though the group didn't achieve much success in America, they were hugely popular overseas. This was especially true in Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979, Ford started a lucrative solo career in heavy metal. She began taking voice classes before releasing her debut album "Out to Blood", followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. Ford was absent from the scene for some time after her albums didn't be a huge success. The smash-hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988.
